But if some disobey the things spoken by him through us, let them know that they will entangle themselves in transgression and no small danger.
But we will be innocent of this sin, and we will ask with earnest prayer and supplication that the Creator of all things may preserve unbroken throughout the whole world the appointed number of his elect, through his beloved servant Jesus Christ, through whom he called us from darkness into light, from ignorance into the full knowledge of the glory of his name.
[Grant us, Lord,] to hope in your name, the source of all creation. Open the eyes of our hearts so that we may know you, the only Most High in the highest, the Holy One who rests among the holy; the one who humbles the insolence of the proud, destroys the schemes of nations, raises the humble to heights and humbles the exalted, makes rich and makes poor, kills and gives life; the only finder of spirits and God of all flesh; the one who looks into the depths, watches over human works, helps those in danger, saves those in despair, and is the Creator and Overseer of every spirit; the one who multiplies nations upon the earth and from them all has chosen those who love you through Jesus Christ, your beloved servant, through whom you instructed us, sanctified us, and honored us.
We ask you, Master, to become our helper and defender. Save those among us who are in affliction; have mercy on the humble; raise up those who have fallen; appear to those in need; heal the weak; turn back those of your people who wander; feed the hungry; ransom our prisoners; raise up those who are sick; encourage the fainthearted. Let all the nations know that you alone are God, that Jesus Christ is your servant, and that we are your people and the sheep of your pasture.
