24.1

Let us consider, beloved, how the Master continually shows us that there will be a resurrection to come, of which he made the Lord Jesus Christ the firstfruits by raising him from the dead.

24.2

Let us look, beloved, at the resurrection that occurs in its proper season.

24.3

Day and night show us a resurrection: night falls asleep, and day rises; day departs, and night comes.

24.4

Let us consider the crops. How, and in what manner, does sowing take place?

24.5

The sower went out and cast each of the seeds into the earth. They fall into the ground dry and bare and decompose. Then, from their decomposition, the greatness of the Master's providence raises them up, and from one seed he causes many to grow and bear fruit.
