The heavens, set in motion by his governance, submit to him in peace.
Day and night complete the course appointed by him without hindering one another.
The sun and moon, and the choirs of the stars, move in harmony according to his arrangement within the limits appointed for them, without any deviation.
The earth, becoming fruitful according to his will in its proper seasons, brings forth abundant food for people, animals, and every living thing upon it, neither rebelling nor changing anything that he has decreed.
The unsearchable depths of the abysses and the indescribable regions of the world below are held in place by the same commands.
The basin of the boundless sea, gathered into its appointed places according to his creative work, does not cross the barriers placed around it, but does exactly as he commanded it.
For he said, “You will come this far, and your waves will be broken within you.”
The ocean, impassable to humanity, and the worlds beyond it are governed by the same ordinances of the Master.
The seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter yield to one another in peace.
The stations of the winds perform their service without obstruction at their proper time. Ever-flowing springs, created for enjoyment and health, provide without fail the breasts that sustain human life. Even the smallest living creatures gather together in harmony and peace.
The great Creator and Master of all things commanded all these to exist in peace and harmony, doing good to everything, and far more abundantly to us who have taken refuge in his compassion through our Lord Jesus Christ,
to whom be glory and majesty forever and ever. Amen.
