Therefore it is right and holy, brothers, that we should obey God rather than follow those who, in arrogance and disorder, are leaders of detestable jealousy.
For we will suffer no ordinary harm, but rather great danger, if we recklessly surrender ourselves to the desires of people who hurl themselves into strife and rebellions in order to estrange us from what is good.
Let us show kindness to one another according to the compassion and sweetness of the one who made us.
For it is written: “The kind will dwell in the land, and the innocent will be left upon it, but those who act lawlessly will be destroyed from it.”
And again it says: “I saw the ungodly person highly exalted and lifted up like the cedars of Lebanon. I passed by, and behold, he was gone; I searched for his place and did not find it. Guard innocence and look upon uprightness, for there is a remnant for a peaceful person.”
