Therefore, my brothers, let us compete, knowing that the contest is close at hand. Many sail to contests for corruptible prizes, but not all are crowned—only those who have labored hard and competed well.
So let us compete in such a way that we may all be crowned.
Let us run the straight course, the incorruptible contest. Let many of us sail to it and compete, so that we too may be crowned. And if we cannot all be crowned, let us at least come near the crown.
We must know that if someone competing in a contest for a corruptible prize is found cheating, they are flogged, removed, and thrown out of the stadium.
