And do not let this trouble your minds either: that we see the unrighteous becoming rich while God’s servants are oppressed.
So let us believe, brothers and sisters. We are competing in the contest of the living God and are being trained in this present life so that we may be crowned in what is to come.
None of the righteous has received the fruit quickly; each waits for it.
For if God paid the reward of the righteous immediately, we would at once be practicing commerce rather than godliness. We would appear to be righteous while pursuing not what is godly but what is profitable. And for this reason divine judgment struck a spirit that was not righteous and weighed it down with chains.
To the only invisible God, the Father of truth, who sent us the Savior and pioneer of incorruption, through whom He also revealed to us the truth and the heavenly life—to Him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
