Therefore, brothers and sisters, following the God of truth, I read you an exhortation so that you will pay attention to what is written and save both yourselves and the one who reads among you. The reward I ask of you is that you repent with all your heart, giving yourselves salvation and life. By doing this, we will set a goal before all the younger people who want to labor diligently in godliness and in the goodness of God.
And in our foolishness let us not be displeased or irritated when someone admonishes us and turns us from unrighteousness to righteousness. For sometimes we do evil without realizing it because of the double-mindedness and unbelief within our hearts, and our understanding is darkened by empty desires.
So let us practice righteousness, so that we may be saved in the end. Blessed are those who obey these commands: even if they suffer for a short time in this world, they will reap the immortal fruit of the resurrection.
Therefore let the godly person not grieve if they suffer in the present time. A blessed time awaits them: when they live again above with the fathers, they will rejoice in an age without sorrow.
