From what has already been said, you can understand that the demons, imitating what was spoken through Moses, caused an image of the one called Kore to be set up at springs of water and said that she was a daughter of Zeus.

For Moses said, as we wrote above: “In the beginning God made the heaven and the earth. The earth was invisible and unformed, and the Spirit of God was moving over the waters.” In imitation, then, of what was said about the Spirit of God moving over the water, they said that Kore was a daughter of Zeus.

In the same malicious way they said that Athena was a daughter of Zeus, though not through sexual union. Because they knew that God, having formed a conception, made the world through the Logos, they said that Athena was the first conception. We consider it utterly ridiculous to present the image of a conception in the form of a female. In the same way, the deeds of the others who are called sons of Zeus are enough to expose them.
