Words spoken by the Son

When the prophetic Spirit speaks from the person of Christ, He speaks in this way: “I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contradicting people, to those who walk in a way that is not good.”

And again: “I gave My back to scourges and My cheeks to blows, and I did not turn My face away from the shame of spitting. And the Lord became My helper; therefore I was not put to shame, but I set My face like solid rock, and I knew that I would not be ashamed, because the one who vindicates Me is near.”

And again, when He says: “They cast lots for My clothing, and they dug through My feet and hands. But I lay down and slept, and I rose again, because the Lord supported me.”

And again, when He says: “They spoke with their lips and shook their heads, saying, ‘Let Him rescue Himself.’”

You can learn that all these things happened to Christ at the hands of the Jews. For when He was crucified, they twisted their lips and shook their heads, saying, “Let the One who raised the dead rescue Himself.”
