Since this immortal substance is not dissolved with bodies, God saw that this wound had become incurable and had grown exceedingly great. In His mercy and because of His own goodness, He visited them; after some time He gave them a law, working through Moses in giving the Law. Moses laid for them the foundation of the house of truth, wishing to heal that severe wound, but he could not complete the building of the house.

Moreover, the whole choir of the saints gathered together and asked the goodness of the Father concerning our salvation, that He might walk upon the earth for the salvation of us all, since He is our great and faithful high priest and the true physician, who alone could heal this enormous wound. Therefore, by the will of the Father, He emptied Himself of His own glory. Though He was God, He took the form of a servant and gave Himself for our sins. Our transgressions humbled Him, but by His wound we have all been healed.
