Everyone who fears God and keeps His commandments is a servant of God. This servitude is not perfection at all, but it is righteous and leads to sonship. For this reason the prophets and apostles also—the holy company whom God chose and entrusted with the apostolic proclamation—became bound to Christ Jesus through the goodness of God the Father. For Paul says, “Paul, bound to Christ Jesus, called as an apostle.”
