My beloved brothers and co-heirs of the saints, none of the virtues is foreign to you; they belong to you. You are not held by this life of the flesh, and so you reveal God. For the Spirit does not draw near to a soul whose heart is defiled, nor to a sinful body. The Spirit is a holy power and withdraws from every deceit. Truly, my beloved, I write to you as rational people, able to know yourselves. For the one who knows himself knows God, and the one who knows God is worthy to worship Him as he ought.
