Seek a Spouse Favored by God

He mentioned his wealth not to show that Abraham was rich, but to show that he loved God. He wanted to praise him not simply for possessing these things but for having received them from God. Then, speaking about the bridegroom, he said, “Sarah, my master's wife, bore my master one son after he had grown old.” Here he also hinted at the manner of the birth, showing that the child came by God's providential care for Abraham, not merely according to the ordinary course of nature.

So whether you are looking for a bridegroom or a bride, seek these things above all: whether the person loves God and enjoys abundant favor from above. If these things are present, the rest follows. If they are absent, then even if worldly affairs are secure and prosperous, there is no gain.
