I have many thoughts in God, but I keep myself within bounds so that I may not perish through boasting. Now I need to be all the more cautious and not listen to those who puff me up, for those who say such things to me are a scourge to me.

For I desire to suffer, but I do not know whether I am worthy. Jealousy is hidden from many, but it wars against me all the more. Therefore I need gentleness, by which the ruler of this age is brought to nothing.
