I seemed both to hear Him saying these things and to sense Him doing them. Beyond this, I seemed to hear Him cry out to the people. Once they were few; now they were already many. Once they were scattered; now they form a substantial whole. Once perhaps they were objects of pity; now they were even envied. “Go through My gates and spread out. Must you always suffer, living in tents, while those who oppress you rejoice so greatly?”
And I seemed to hear Him speak to the angels who preside over the churches. I am convinced, as John teaches me through Revelation, that different angels have charge of different churches. “Prepare the way for My people. Clear the stones from the road, so that nothing may become a stumbling block or obstacle to My people on the divine road and at its entrance. For now that entrance leads to buildings made by human hands; a little later it will lead to the Jerusalem above and to the Holy of Holies there. I know these to be the end of the suffering and strenuous effort here for those who travel this road well.”
You too are among them: called to be saints, a people for God’s own possession, a royal priesthood, the Lord’s finest portion. From a drop you have become a whole river; from a spark, a heavenly torch; from a mustard seed, a tree where birds come to rest.
