I advise you of these things, beloved, knowing that you also are of this mind. But I warn you in advance against beasts in human form, whom you must not only refuse to receive but, if possible, not even meet. Only pray for them, in case they somehow repent, though this is difficult. But Jesus Christ, our true life, has power to bring this about.
For if these things were done by our Lord only in appearance, I too am bound only in appearance. Why, then, have I given myself over to death, to fire, to sword, to wild beasts? But near the sword, near God; among wild beasts, with God. In the name of Jesus Christ alone, so that I may suffer with Him, I endure all things, as He Himself—the perfect man—strengthens me.
