Pay attention to the bishop, so that God also may pay attention to you. I give my life for those who submit to the bishop, presbyters, and deacons; and may I be granted a share with them in God. Labor together, compete together, run together, suffer together, lie down together, rise together, as God's stewards, assistants, and servants.
Please the One in whose ranks you serve, from whom you also receive your pay. Let none of you be found a deserter. Let your baptism remain as your weapons, your faith as a helmet, your love as a spear, your endurance as full armor. Let your works be your deposits, so that you may receive the payments due to you. Therefore be patient with one another in gentleness, as God is with you. May I have joy of you always.
