10.1

And pray without ceasing for the other people, for there is in them hope of repentance so that they may attain God. Allow them, then, at least by your works, to become your disciples.

10.2

In response to their anger, be gentle; to their boastful speech, humble-minded; to their blasphemies, offer your prayers; to their error, be steadfast in faith; to their savagery, be mild, not striving to imitate them in return.

10.3

Let us be found to be their brothers by our gentleness; but let us strive to be imitators of the Lord: who may be more wronged, who more deprived, who more rejected?—so that no plant of the devil may be found among you, but you may remain in all purity and self-control in Jesus Christ, both in flesh and in spirit.
