Who has ever seen a Child older than the woman who bore Him? He made Himself young within her, came forth as an infant, and grew by her milk. In littleness He came forth from her, and in her He grew—a great wonder.
Refrain: Glory on Your day to Your hidden manifestation, and to the Father who sent You.
As a Child in the womb, the seal of virginity remained intact for You. The womb was the King's temple; the face of its door bore seals—seals upon it and seals outside—while within was the womb: a great wonder.
O ark that was empty and sealed: while it itself was stamped shut, the great Seal came forth from within it, the One who makes kings reign. The witness cries aloud that this gift was not according to nature.
For the race of [women], virgins came to be because of You; because of You, [Your conception] was holy within the seals. Your purity dwelt there. The seal rebukes whoever [denies] what took place secretly in Your Mother.
You dwelt within the seal, and even now You dwell among the chaste. If [someone violates Your betrothed women], a silent seal confronts him: the face of the sealed door cries out that our King is there.
The seal bears witness to Your betrothed women and to Your birth within a seal. You dwelt in Your Mother and among the chaste; within the signet may Your seal vindicate Your betrothed women as it vindicated Your Mother.
The great holiness that the impure refuse to believe—the seal and signet of the King of kings testify that the Pearl is guarded. Your handmaids have good advocates among their accusers.
If even a treasury under seal is not trusted without a signet, who could have believed without a vindication? God Himself made the case before humanity on behalf of His holy ones.
You dwelt in Mary, and the impure accused her, denying the holiness of her conception of You. Now that You dwell among the chaste, they too are falsely accused as though pregnant. They accused both the one who conceived and those who did not conceive—a great lament.
[Your wall] guards Your betrothed women as it guarded Your Mother. If a thief comes to steal because of You, let him be thwarted and cast away; and if an oppressor comes to violate because of You, let him be silenced.
Praise to You, [Purifier] of the flock—praise from Your Mother and from the chaste, from Your birth-giver and Your handmaids, from those who nursed You and from her. And from all of us, glory to Your Name.
