What, then, someone says, is the reason for the divine to descend to such lowliness that faith itself becomes doubtful—whether God, the uncontainable, incomprehensible, and ineffable reality, the One beyond every glory and every majesty, is mingled with the defilement of human nature, so that even His exalted operations are brought down together with this mingling with what is lowly?
