Words spoken by the Father

So that this also may become clear to you, the following words were spoken from the person of the Father through Isaiah, the prophet mentioned above: “An ox knows its owner, and a donkey its master’s manger, but Israel did not know me, and my people did not understand. Woe, sinful nation, people full of sins, evil seed, lawless children; you have abandoned the Lord.”

And elsewhere, when the same prophet speaks in the same way from the person of the Father: “What kind of house will you build for me? says the Lord. Heaven is my throne, and the earth is the footstool of my feet.”

And again elsewhere: “Your new moons and your Sabbaths my soul hates, and I cannot endure your great day of fasting and cessation from work. Even if you come to appear before me, I will not listen to you. Your hands are full of blood. Even if you bring fine flour and incense, it is an abomination to me; I do not desire the fat of lambs and the blood of bulls. For who required these things from your hands? Instead, loose every bond of injustice, tear apart the tight bonds of violent agreements, shelter the homeless and naked, and break your bread for the hungry.”
