Some, not knowing him, deny him—or rather, they were denied by him—being advocates of death rather than of the truth. Neither the prophecies nor the law of Moses persuaded them, nor even until now the Gospel, nor our own individual sufferings.
For they think the same concerning us. What does anyone benefit me if he praises me but blasphemes my Lord, not confessing him as flesh-bearing? The one who says this has completely denied him and is corpse-bearing.
I did not think it right to write down their unbelieving names. May it not even happen that I remember them, until they repent into the passion, which is our resurrection.
